Come along to this beginner workshop where you will learn the basics of using an overlocker to make a set of children's pyjamas.
You will learn how to:
- choose a suitable pattern size
- navigate a simple garment pattern and understand all the symbols
- accurately cut out your fabric
- construct the PJ’s
- sew knit/jersey on an overlocker
- fit cuffs and neckband to knit fabric
- sew a t-shirt hem on a sewing machine, using a twin needle
You will not need to bring anything. If you have your own working overlocker and would like to bring it please do.
This class is suitable for beginners who are comfortable using a sewing machine for simple projects, or for those who want to make a whole garment using an overlocker.
Taking a class at the Brighton Sewing Centre entitles you to 10% off fabric in the shop and we are always happy to help you pick the right fabric for your project.
Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided throughout the day to help you with the sewing process. Please bring along a packed lunch or visit one of the lovely local cafes in the area.
This class can also be run for a private group with a minimum of 4 people.
