The pattern comes with a paper pattern and instructions to make a backpack that we have called a Commuter bag.

Suitable fabrics: heavy weight cotton, oil cloth, cotton blends, linen, linen blends, canvas.

Suitable lining fabric: medium weight cotton or cotton blends.


Fabric requirements -

Main fabric 

112cm fabric width you need 90cm

120cm+ fabric width you need 80cm

Main fabric when bag has a contrasting base fabric

112cm fabric width you need 75cm

120cm+ fabric width you need 60cm

Contrasting base fabric

112cm+ fabric width you need 20cm

Lining fabric

112cm fabric width you need 60cm  (cut on fold)
120cm+ fabric width you need 50cm 

* Note - Inside pocket is optional 


Notions:

  • 35 x 37cm Flexi-foam
  • 46cm zip + 20cm zip (both heavy duty)
  • 2.5m webbing (3cm wide) + 40cm webbing (5cm wide)
  • 2 rectangular rings (3.5cm) + 2 strap adjusters (3.5cm)
