Ooh we’ve got a treat for you today – a sneak peek at a new craft book which will be hitting the shelves in November. What’s more it’s written by none other than the fantastic Perri Lewis
Material World: The Modern Craft Bible is no ordinary craft book. With contributions from some of the biggest names in fashion, design and craft, this craft bible is brimming with advice and expertise. Contributors include Emma Bridgewater, Rob Ryan, Tracy Emin and Grayson Perry.
As well as offering advice, Material World shares 15 techniques to enable you to create your own craft projects. Unlike most craft books, this one doesn’t use set patterns; instead it encourages you to apply the wide range of techniques to your own projects. From screen printing to customising your own clothes, this book has something for everyone.
Here at the Brighton Sewing Centre, we are a big fan of Perri Lewis. For those unfamiliar with her work, Perri is a crafter, editor and journalist. Currently the commissioning editor of Psychologies, Perri’s craft writing has also featured in Mollie Makes, Making, Knitting, The Knitter and on the Guardian website. Perri is also a member of Knit the City – a guerrilla knitting group in London.
Material World: The Modern Craft Bible will be available on 1st November 2012 - RRP £18.99
